Center for Healthy Living to offer drive-through, walk-in, on-campus flu shots this flu season

Seasonal flu shots, which support the Healthy Boiler Program’s physical health pillar, are provided annually at no charge to all benefits-eligible Purdue faculty and staff, as well as spouses and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan, through a variety of means at all three CHL locations.

West Lafayette campus

No appointment is required to obtain a flu vaccine at the West Lafayette CHL-hosted flu shot locations and events.

The CHL on the West Lafayette campus will begin administering flu shots on Sept. 25 with convenient, drive-through flu vaccines on the center’s south side, with both morning and evening time slots available. The CHL has on-campus flu shot events beginning Oct. 15 at a variety of locations. 

Flu vaccines also will be available at the center on a walk-in basis beginning Oct. 1 to benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan. Patients can simply stop by to receive their flu shots; appointments are not required.

Pediatric patients 6 months and older can also receive their flu shots at the CHL beginning Oct. 1.

Purdue Northwest campuses – Hammond and Westville

The CHL at Purdue University Northwest will offer flu shots on Oct. 2 (by appointment only on the Westville campus) and Oct. 3 (via drive-through only on the Hammond campus).

Employees also can call the CHL to schedule an appointment at the Hammond campus CHL location.

Purdue Fort Wayne campus

Flu shots at the Purdue University Fort Wayne CHL will take place on Oct. 1 at Walb Union, Room 222. Employees who cannot make the event can call the CHL to schedule an appointment at the center.

Identification required

Regardless of location, individuals coming for a flu shot should bring their Purdue University ID (PUID).

Additional flu shot options

Employees also can schedule their flu vaccines with their health care providers or at a local pharmacy. 

Reminder: Earn Healthy Boiler incentive dollars

As a reminder, flu shots are included in the 2024 Healthy Boiler incentive as one of the optional well-being screenings in Step 2 for those 18 years and older. Therefore, those who get their flu shot in 2024 and log completion into the Healthy Boiler portal are eligible for additional incentive dollars.
