MaPSAC’s Lovell Leadership Series to present Jeffrey Vargas

Jeffrey Vargas, founder and CEO of Generationology LLC, a leadership and professional development consulting firm, will provide leadership insights Oct. 11 as part of the Lovell Leadership Series, presented by the Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee (MaPSAC).

The event, set for 1-2 p.m. ET, will be offered virtually. Registration is required, and registrants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. All university staff are welcome to attend with supervisor approval.

The Lovell Leadership Series was established in 2010 by the late C.W. “Bill” Lovell, professor of civil engineering, who, after retiring in 1993, took an active role as a Franklin Covey facilitator in Human Resources and promoted learning of leadership skills among Purdue staff members.

Questions for Vargas can be emailed in advance to mapsac-pd@purdue.edu. The discussion will be moderated to minimize interruptions during the event.

Vargas loves helping people realize their leadership potential and build their professional skills. His firm, founded in 2014, helps multimillion- and multibillion-dollar organizations build more effective workplace cultures through self-reflection, introspection and a focus on enhancing their intergenerational collaborative intelligence.

Some of his current clients include White Sands Missile Range, the U.S. Space Force, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Geological Survey and many more. Vargas is a nationally known figure in the learning and development community and is widely identified as the nation’s expert on generational differences in the federal government. He is known for sharing human capital management and leadership insights using data and stories to help facilitate organizational change.

Before starting his own consulting practice, Vargas enjoyed a 22-year career in federal service, where he held numerous workforce and workplace oversight roles including the chief learning officer for the National Nuclear Security Administration. In that role, he oversaw technical training and learning and executive development for the nation’s nuclear weapons complex. Vargas also served as the CLO for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), where he built and oversaw all aspects of the CFTC’s leadership development activities and executive coaching program.

His undergraduate degree is in economics from the University of Maryland. Vargas is also a graduate of Georgetown University’s training specialist program, along with the Federal Executive Institute.
