Purdue announces exciting lineup of fall events for the 2024-25 academic year
Purdue University has planned an engaging series of events aimed at launching another year of giant leaps in 2024-25. The fall lineup includes a blend of historical celebrations, cultural experiences, alumni reunions and athletic events, ensuring something for everyone in the Purdue community.
Sept. 9-17: Purdue Memorial Union 100th anniversary celebrations
Commemorate a century of tradition and community with live music, food and interactive activities during Purdue Memorial Union’s 100th anniversary celebration. The grand finale includes a ceremonial “Inside the Capsule” event Sept. 17 that features the opening of a time capsule from 1924.
Sept. 17: Degas Collection opens at Purdue
Join us in the Purdue Memorial Union as Purdue unveils a collection of 74 sculptures by French impressionist Edgar Degas. The collection is valued at more than $21 million and represents the largest gift in the history of Purdue’s College of Liberal Arts.
Sept. 27-28: President’s Council Annual Weekend
Celebrate the university’s global impact through an array of classes and events highlighting Purdue’s persistent pursuit of the next giant leap.
Sept. 27-29: Homecoming 2024
Make your giant leap back to campus for Homecoming 2024, a gold-and-black reunion for Boilermakers of all ages.
Sept. 29: A Conversation With Yo-Yo Ma
President Mung Chiang and the Purdue Presidential Lecture Series present the renowned cellist, recording artist and humanitarian Yo-Yo Ma in a special engagement moderated by “PBS News Hour” correspondent Jeffrey Brown.
Nov. 1-3: Fall Family Weekend
Families are invited to experience campus life during Purdue’s Fall Family Weekend with a variety of activities designed to bring families and students together and connect with the university.
Nov. 14-16: One Health Alumni Reunion
Boilermakers who serve in the medical profession — supporting human, animal, plant and environmental health — are invited to come home to campus and join Purdue’s president and First Lady Kei Hui for a weekend of special programming in West Lafayette.
Sporting events at Ross-Ade Stadium and Mackey Arena
Sports enthusiasts will have plenty to cheer for this fall. Purdue football will host six home games at Ross-Ade Stadium. The 2024 season will kick off at home when Purdue takes on Indiana State University, Saturday, Aug. 31. Mackey Arena will be the place to see both the Purdue women’s and men’s basketball teams as they tip off their seasons later this fall. The arena will also play host to Purdue volleyball during two special matches on Oct. 19 and 26.
