Purdue United Way continues to work toward its goal of fundraising $700,000 for local agencies in need and adding 150 new donors to its roster by inviting the campus community to donate, volunteer and take part in campaign activities this fall.

Dimitrios Peroulis, senior vice president for partnerships and online and the Reilly Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is this year’s campaign chair, and Sang Woo, chair of the Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence and a professor of industrial-organizational psychology in the College of Health and Human Sciences, is the vice chair. Campaign leaders hope to reach this year’s goal by Nov. 14, when the campaign ends.

This year marks the return of the campuswide silent auction, which runs through Nov. 1. The online auction features a wide variety of prizes, including guided tours of the Tippecanoe County Courthouse and Westwood, gift certificates for local restaurants, specialty baskets and more. Additional details, including a list of items and experiences up for grabs, can be found online.

New to the 2024 campaign is a drawing featuring four prizes that can be awarded to anyone who responds through the donation website by clicking either the “Give Now” or “I Don’t Wish to Give” buttons. Additionally, past donors who renew their donations by Nov. 1 will be entered for a chance to win four floor seat tickets to a Purdue women’s basketball game this season.

The theme of this year’s campaign is “The Power of One, The Power of Purdue.” Faculty, staff and students can help support Purdue’s impact on the surrounding community by signing up for local volunteer opportunities through United Way of Greater Lafayette’s volunteer portal.
