This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients

Travis Mitchell

Travis Mitchell (Operations and Maintenance) is a generalist in Zone 4, and he is doing exemplary work at Stone Hall. He goes above and beyond to make sure things are fixed properly, in a timely manner and restored to a new state upon completion. Thank you for your hard work and attention to detail within this historic building on Purdue’s campus. — Josh Shepler (Nutrition Science)

Katie May

Katie (College of Pharmacy administration) is such a ray of sunshine on our campus! She is always looking out to give others support, help and encouragement, and the positive energy that she exudes just inspires. Thank you, Katie, for all that you do for your students and for the spirit with which you do your work! — Lisa Klein (Botany and Plant Pathology)

Charles Blomeke and Joey Phillips

We were having trouble locating a replacement for a TV remote lost in our move to Stanley Coulter. Charles and Joey (both IT End User Experience) on the AV Services team were able to solve our problem the same day. Much appreciated! — Bradley Dilger (English)

Amy Ledman

Amy (Office of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs) is always supportive and helpful. She always welcomes you if you have any questions or concerns either via email or if you walk in her office. She is the one who always answers you patiently and makes sure everything is clear for you. She was a great help for our symposium and took care of many things that were impossible for us to figure out. — Lena Azimi (Civil and Construction Engineering)

Linda Gregory and Exploratory Studies

Shoutout to Linda (Exploratory Studies) and the Exploratory Studies team for planning and hosting a fantastic Majors, Minors and More fair! We were thrilled with the number of students who attended. Thank you for organizing such a successful event! — John Race and the Office of Summer and Winter Sessions

Nate Lawrie

Computer issues can stop me in my tracks at work. Nate (Purdue IT) fixed my sound issue swiftly, allowing me to return to my workday. Ever grateful, Nate. — LouAnna Eichrodt (Mechanical Engineering)

Amy Ledman

Amy (Office of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs) is just the best academic advisor. She’s kind and proactive and tries to find solutions, and there is no complicated task for her. Academically I don’t know where I would be without her. — Teresa Paniagua (Forestry and Natural Resources)

Josh Remaly

Thank you to Josh (Operations and Maintenance) and his staff for all of their time troubleshooting and recalibrating the temperature and controls for our entire office suite. Thank you for going above and beyond. We truly appreciate it! — Nicky Federer (Engineering Technology)

Tammy Blickenstaff

I want to give Tammy (Office of Admissions) two thumbs-up for being such a huge help in recent times. Her hard work on not one but two retirement parties within the office was phenomenal. She planned both events from start to finish and did an amazing job. Tammy has also assisted me with other various tasks lately, and I am greatly appreciative of her and her efforts. Thank you, Tammy! — Emily Vester (Office of Admissions)

Steve Woods

While attempting to project teach-out courses for Purdue students in Indianapolis, we were running into difficulties pulling data on remaining courses students were required to take. After much difficulty, we reached out to Steve (Infrastructure). He was quick to alter a current Cognos report to reflect the data we needed. This reporting tool will probably cut our work time in half and save us critical time to assist faculty in future course offerings. We appreciate Steve’s prompt response and problem-solving to find the data so quickly. — Lacretia Githiri, Tami Lynch and T.R. Oneal (all Purdue Polytechnic Institute administration)

Lindsey Springer

Lindsey (Office of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs) did a fantastic job planning and executing the Purdue University Interdisciplinary Life Science (PULSe) 20th anniversary celebration. She put a lot of time and energy into this event, along with the PULSe open house for prospective students. These prospective students were able to engage with an academic and industry alumni panelist, meet faculty, attend a poster session, and tour campus. This was a great combined event for PULSe. Job well done! — Christal Musser (Office of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs)
