This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients

Dee Odum

Dee (Environmental Health and Safety) was incredibly helpful with my Institutional Biosafety Committee renewal. We had several issues completing required training on time, and she waited for us to get it done. We then completed the IBC form, but I missed some parts, and the form isn’t editable after it’s been signed. She was trying to get it done before the next approval meeting, and I told her that I was writing a grant and didn’t have time. She retyped the whole thing into a new form for me — all 12 pages. She didn’t have to do that. I asked her for a manager’s name so I could let someone know what a great job she did. She gave me the name but said that she was just doing her job. Nope, she went above and beyond. — Elizabeth Tran (Biochemistry)

Konner Hughes

Thank you to Konner (Windsor Dining) for being our second set of eyes on work orders at Hillenbrand Dining Court. Konner has been making stops by Hillenbrand to submit work orders for items that we’ve overlooked. This has led to significant improvements in our operations and overall maintenance. Konner, we truly appreciate your dedication and support! — Eric Coates (Hillenbrand Dining)

Nathan Caldwell and Greg Gochenour

A huge shout-out to Nathan and Greg (both IT End User Experience)! When the power outage struck just an hour before our department head candidate seminar, they quickly found us an alternative location and set up the streaming technology to keep everything on track. I’m truly thankful to work with such amazing and accommodating colleagues. — Becky Rice (College of Agriculture)

Bull gang and others who helped with appreciation luncheon

I just wanted to give out a shout-out to all of the folks who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the Administrative Operations appreciation luncheon a success. From those who planned, set up, tore down, served the meal, prepared the meal and everyone in between. Thank you all! You are appreciated! — Terri Griffin (Operations and Maintenance)

Terri Griffin

Besides being one of the best co-workers I could ask for, Terri (Operations and Maintenance) went above and beyond for our Purdue United Way fundraiser. She made 10 gallons of sausage gravy for our biscuits and gravy breakfast at the Physical Facilities Service Building. “Thank you” does not seem like enough, but thank you for all you did to make this happen. — Kathy Bryant (Operations and Maintenance)
