This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients

Marcia Dillman

I wanted to give a huge “Thumbs Up” to Marcia (Finance and Business Operations). She is always willing to assist me with last-minute conference room scheduling changes at the 2550 building. Her help is invaluable, and I always appreciate her willingness to step in and make things easier. Thank you so much, Marcia, for all that you do! — Chris Hallenbeck (Office of the Vice President for Information Technology)

Travis Mitchell

The ceiling tiles in the third-floor women’s restroom have been missing for a long time after a repair was made in the ceiling. It was always so creepy with them missing. Travis (Operations and Maintenance) came and put new ceiling tiles in, replacing multiple tiles and all of the damaged ones too. I feel so much safer with new ceiling tiles! We really appreciate his hard work in making our areas new and inviting! You’re so awesome, Travis! Thank you so much! — Erica Wallskog (Anthropology)

Dustin Richardson, Michael McClimans, Marry Anglin and Rodger Miller

Thank you so much, Dustin, Michael, Marry and Rodger (all Building Services), for helping our crew at Rawls Hall. You all did a great job and were able to come together as a team and get a lot accomplished. Your hard work is appreciated. — Wendy Fredrychowski (Building Services)

Tina Lewis

Tina (Office of the Bursar) goes above and beyond to help those inside and outside the bursar’s office. She knows how to combine professionalism and humor into the work setting. I am so thankful that she is a part of our office! — Heather Holley (Office of the Bursar)

Ali Kushki

Ali (Curriculum and Instruction) takes his role as an educator very seriously and is willing to support any student who asks for help. The kindness he showed a student who needed additional support cannot be understated, as Purdue commits to the overall wellness of all students. He also embodies the message that access is everyone’s responsibility and works to support all learners by removing barriers to their full participation in their academic life at Purdue. — Eileen White (Disability Resource Center)

Taylor Stayback

Thank you to Taylor (Institutional Data Analytics + Assessment) for her incredible work in developing the data dashboards for the winter session, including multiple tables in Tableau! Your efforts make a big difference, saving valuable time while ensuring we have the most accurate and up-to-date information. — John Race (Office of Summer and Winter Sessions)

Danica Andersen

I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for Danica’s (Office of International Students and Scholars) exceptional guidance with the fast track of a visiting scholar visa request. Danica’s expertise and dedication were invaluable in helping us meet the narrow deadline set by the funding agency. Danica’s thorough understanding of the process and her patience in walking both the student and me through the necessary documentation made all the difference. Her support ensured that everything was handled smoothly and efficiently. Thank you once again for your assistance, Danica! We truly appreciate the time and effort you put in to make this happen. — Christina Ferreira (Bindley Bioscience Center)

Bill Woodward

I wanted to give Bill (Operations and Maintenance) a huge “Thumbs Up” for taking care of a dead mouse. He is my mouse hero! Thanks, Bill! — Terri Griffin (Operations and Maintenance)

Carly Watley Brown

Extra huge thank-you to Carly (Office of the Registrar) for helping one of my students successfully navigate a very tough and complicated situation. We couldn’t have done it without you and greatly appreciate it! — Patrick Tiffany (Food Science)

Melissa Almanza, Andrew Bradburn and the PACADA Research Committee

A big thank you to the PACADA Research Committee for their outstanding work, especially to its dedicated leaders, Melissa and Andrew (both Academic Student Services). Your efforts in collecting and sharing burnout data among academic advisors on campus are invaluable in fostering important conversations about enhancing advisors’ work life and their ability to support students. We deeply appreciate your commitment and transparency in addressing both the challenges and opportunities reflected in the results. — Jeff Elliott (University Undergraduate Academic Advising)
