This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients
Brooke Folkers
Brooke (Admissions) organized an incredibly successful staff bonding activity, dedicating many hours of additional effort outside her daily responsibilities. She has also excelled for years as the first point of contact for many visiting families, a role that has grown even more critical as the volume of visitors has significantly increased. Simply put, she’s the best. — Tim Bertsch (Admissions)
Debra Haynes and Paige Lamb
Both Debra and Paige (both Bursar) stepped up to help with covering phones while several staff members went to training and had time off. They both were willing to help without hesitation. Thanks to both of you. — Heather Holley (Bursar)
Tina Sandefur
The Department of Physics and Astronomy and the business office would like to recognize Tina (Finance) for her outstanding service to faculty, staff and co-workers of the department and business office. Tina anticipates needs and offers guidance and training in all aspects of departmental functions. In a time of transition, she has identified tasks that need to be done and ensured they were completed. Tina is always trying to help everyone be better, offering insights and training to anyone who needs a hand and wants to learn. Well done, Tina; we appreciate you. — Loren Randall (Finance)
Greg Chmiel
The Department of Physics and Astronomy would like to thank Greg (Physics and Astronomy) for his work in assuming all the responsibilities pertaining to safety training for PRIME Lab. His duties include safety assurance for radiation-generating devices, radioactive materials, chemical safety and high-pressure gases. His professionalism is contributing to a safer working environment for both PRIME Lab staff and the students associated with the facility. Thank you, Greg, for your tireless efforts to PRIME Lab and the Department of Physics and Astronomy. — Marc Caffee (Physics and Astronomy)
Grounds
The Grounds crew does an excellent job around Purdue, especially when we get to work on an icy day knowing that some of them have been out there in the freezing cold working hard to prevent any falls, slips or accidents. These employees really do go above and beyond. I really think they need this thumbs-up to remind them how important their job is and how much they are appreciated! Great job to all of you. — Vickie Gilliam (Building Services)
