Purdue University Police Department to offer free active threat training in April and May

The Purdue University Police Department offers free, in-person training classes for potential active shooter/threat events. 

The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) class provides strategies, guidance and plan options for surviving an active threat event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options and preparing your response in advance. CRASE was designed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training in 2004.

 The upcoming sessions are:

  • Friday, April 18: 1:30-3:30 p.m. in FRNY B124
  • Wednesday, April 30: 9:30-11:30 a.m. in LAMB 108 
  • Tuesday, May 20: 9:30-11:30 a.m. in KRAN G018
  • Thursday, May 29: 1-3 p.m. in RAWLS 1057

To register, contact Lt. Sarah Clark at sclark32@purdue.edu. Please indicate your preferred session when registering. Affiliation with Purdue is not required to register.
