This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients
Scott Gilkey
As a building deputy, I am often asked the status of repairs for work orders. I am constantly looking up work orders to find out the status. Scott (Operations and Maintenance) is consistently requiring his crew to enter in detailed notes on work orders. This helps me to relay the information to the occupants of the buildings. I know if a Zone 4 tech worked on it, I will have detailed information about the repairs on each work order. Thanks, Scott! — Josh Shepler (Nutrition Science)
Christopher Allen
I want to thank Chris (Purdue IT) on the UC4 team for taking time out of his busy schedule to help me understand how UC4 works for a process I needed completed and for being so supportive that I no longer felt like I couldn’t learn how to use UC4! — Kelly Fleeger (Purdue IT)
Jon Rienstra-Kiracofe
I was recruited as a senior lecturer to teach chemistry at Purdue University in Indianapolis. Being a new employee at a new campus has its unique challenges. Jon (Chemistry) has done everything to support me since day one, from setting up the office to helping with parking and offering expert guidance on how to navigate student issues. With his support and guidance, I felt comfortable and confident doing my job. Thank you, Jon! — Sridhar Budhi (Chemistry)
Nicole McCabe
A resounding thank you to Nicole (Career Success) and the Center for Career Opportunities team for really pulling out all the stops to nourish not only existing relationships but also establish new relationships with community partners in the area. Your Herculean efforts to help increase Federal Work-Study awareness in the community have led to increased off-campus opportunities in community service for our students. The momentum you have created is noticed and appreciated. Thanks for being a great partner. — Russell Tragesser (Financial Aid)
Brooke Folkers
Brooke (Office of Admissions) organized an incredibly successful staff bonding activity, dedicating many hours of additional effort outside her daily responsibilities. She has also excelled for years as the first point of contact for many visiting families — a role that has grown even more critical as the volume of visitors has significantly increased. Simply put, she’s the best. — Tim Bertsch (Office of Admissions)
Elise Taylor
Elise (English) is the epitome of “students first.” She has their best interests in mind and works hard to find solutions to their needs. Polytechnic Advising is grateful for all you do! — T.R. Oneal (Purdue Polytechnic Institute)
Kirk Wright
Kirk (Heat and Power) goes above and beyond to help clean the power plant, even though cleaning is not part of his job. He always has a great attitude at work and is the one of the best operators who works here. — Cindy Killian (Heat and Power)
