This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients
Kelly Spoth, Zach Hoyt, Katy Kinker and Rick Hernandez
A huge thumbs-up to Kelly, Zach (both Purdue IT), Katy and Rick (both Animal Sciences) for their hard work revamping the digital displays in Creighton Hall, including the digital display in the main lobby. From installing new monitors to refreshing the branding, your countless hours of dedication have truly made an impact. Your efforts are noticed and appreciated; thank you for making Creighton Hall look better than ever! — Marion Welsh (Animal Sciences)
Brenda Serrano and team
Brenda (Building Services) and her team did an amazing job helping control and clean up a flood in our lab recently. Brenda arrived incredibly quickly and was calm and collected while we were panicking. Without her assistance and the assistance of the several other staff members who helped clean up the water before it spread farther, we would have permanently damaged our electronics and optics. Thank you, Brenda, for helping to save our research! — Sonja Nusser (Chemistry)
Nancy Marshall
I have made several unusual requests regarding MiFis in various research projects I’ve worked on. Nancy (IT End User Experience) has consistently gone above and beyond to address my requests and answer my questions. If she doesn’t have the answer right away, she turns over every stone to find it. She also always responds promptly and courteously. I sincerely appreciate all of her efforts. Thank you, Nancy! — Kelly Spoth (Purdue IT)
Erica Laffoon
I want to give a massive thumbs-up to Erica (Office of Admissions) for making sure that the West Lafayette Office of Admissions team members had the chance to support our Purdue University in Indianapolis colleagues. Without her quick thinking — and great driving — it wouldn’t have been possible to get to the Purdue’s for Me event. A massive thank you and a bigger thumbs-up to you, Erica! — Samuel Day (Office of Admissions)
Jordan Miller
Thank you so much, Jordan (Purdue IT), for all of your help with my computer. I appreciate all of your help! — Katie May (Public Health)
Lora White
Thank you, Lora (Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Business Office), for helping me with the timely submission of my travel reports, answering all my queries with patience and coordinating with other people whenever required. Thank you! — Shivika Aggrawal (Horticulture and Landscape Architecture)
Christine Runk
I want to give a huge shout-out to Chris (Finance and Business Operations). She recently helped get a vendor set up for our business office that was more complex than usual. We appreciate all your hard work. Thanks again! — Brittany Clemans (Finance and Business Operations)
Ashley Darnell
Ashley (Office of the Dean of Students) does a great job staying apprised of housing availability and rental options in the area. He is an office of one at Off-Campus Student Services, and I really appreciate the work he puts in to collaborate with Student Legal Services and the entire Purdue community. — Leslie Charters (Student Legal Services)
Kayla Clark
Kayla (Student Life Marketing) is a great teammate who always bring positive energy and punny jokes to the workplace. I’m very grateful for her! — Megan McCardle (Student Life Marketing)
Those who assist the Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center
Thank you, Samantha Huang, Maia Talbert, Mukhamad Suhermanto, Nguyen Le, Aerrielle Condino (all Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center), HyunShu Kim (Libraries) and Jae Yon Kim (College of Health and Human Sciences), for bringing joy every day in the work that we do to support Boilermaker communities! — Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center
Jared West
Jared (Student Life Marketing) is a great guy who helps carry the team when there’s a time crunch! — Megan McCardle (Student Life Marketing)
Janice Thomaz
Janice’s (Physics and Astronomy) sincere care for her students, great sense of humor and exhaustive knowledge of curriculum make her a huge asset to the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Even during this busy time of year, she makes time for drop-in appointments and time to encourage colleagues like me. She is the best! — Lindsey Eggold (College of Pharmacy)
Diana Rangel
Diana (Hall of Music Productions) did a great job during our Women in Leadership Institute opening keynote. She saved a poster for our keynote speaker, and they were really thankful to have a copy for themselves. We loved working with Diana, and she made it special for our keynote as well. — Jesus Romero (Leadership Development)
