Winners announced, voting open for 2025 BTAA Data Viz Championship

Institutional Data Analytics + Assessment (IDA+A) has announced the Purdue University winners for the 2025 Data Viz Championship, held as part of Love Data Week (Feb. 10-14).This annual event celebrates data and its impact on research and education.

Of the Purdue entries, one student submission and one faculty/staff submission have advanced to the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) Data Viz Championship.

Voting Information and Showcase:

Voting for the best data visualization is open to all members of the BTAA community through noon Friday (Feb. 14). See the Student Data Viz Gallery and Faculty/Staff Data Viz Gallery to explore the data visualizations and cast your vote. Each participant will present their work during Friday’s (Feb. 14) Data Viz Showcase, and the champion will be announced at the end. Advance registration is required to attend the Love Data Week events and showcase.

Purdue IDA+A Winners:

Purdue Data Visualization Excellence Award — $1,000 award
Siqi Chen and Dianping Yang
Plan Your Journey for U.S. National Parks
*Will represent Purdue at the Big Ten Data Visualization Competition

Daniels School of Business Excellence in Business Insights Award — $500 award
Dayoon SuhTrends in U.S. National Park for Recreation Visits (1979-2023)

Purdue Libraries Visionary Visualization Award — $500 award
