"Peter and the Starcatcher," which tells an imagined Peter Pan backstory as a dozen actors play 100+ characters, will alight on Purdue's stage. 7 p.m. Elliott Hall of Music. $. Details

The Dublin Guitar Quartet plucks on the edge with new works, adaptations, guitars with unusual numbers of strings, and special amplification. 8 p.m. STEW, Loeb Playhouse. $. Details

Harlan Coben

Harlan Coben

Best-selling novelist Harlan Coben, speaking in the Presidential Lecture Series, will expound on "The Rules of Writing and When to Break Them." He and President Mitch Daniels will discuss the subject as well. 6:30 p.m. STEW, Fowler Hall. Details

APRIL 17

Avett Brothers in concert. It's a brotherly Carolina blend of bluegrass, folk and rock 'n' roll. 8 p.m. Elliott Hall of Music. $. Details

Spring Fest. Two-day campus-wide family-friendly event "showcasing the lighter side of higher education." It's a great time to find out interesting new things about the world at large or about Purdue, and the little children remind us how to react to discoveries. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Activities are free. The Spring Showcase Concert from Purdue Bands & Orchestras is actually three concerts featuring guest conductor Col. Thomas Palmatier, leader and commander of the U.S. Army Band. The weekend also is a scholarship fundraiser. Details

The Purduette Spring Spectacular features the varied repertoire and striking harmonics of PMO's women's vocal ensemble. 7:30 p.m. Long Center for the Performing Arts, 111 N. Sixth St., Lafayette. $. Details

MAY 1-2
