Open access advocate to speak Thursday at Purdue

Open access advocate Ada Emmett will discuss the challenges and opportunities in scholarly communications and open access at 2-3 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 26) in Stewart Center, Room 313. The event, hosted by Purdue Libraries, is free and open to the public.

In her presentation, Emmett -- who is the head of the University of Kansas Libraries Shulenburger Office of Scholarly Communication & Copyright -- will talk about the opportunities on both the national and international scenes, advances made, and the current challenges in open access and scholarly communications.

Emmett serves on the steering committee for the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition.
