Purdue’s McCuskey takes office as ACUHO-I president

Beth McCuskey, Purdue vice provost for student life, took office in January as president of the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International. McCuskey was elected in 2014 to enter the ACUHO-I presidential cycle, serving as vice president in 2015 and president-elect in 2016 before assuming the presidency in 2017.

ACUHO-I’s membership includes thousands of campus housing professionals who work at more than 1,000 campuses across the world, as well as more than 250 companies and organizations whose products and services support the profession's needs. The goal of the organization is to provide members with innovative and value-driven events, publications, research, career services, professional development and networking opportunities.

“If it’s happening in campus housing, ACUHO-I is your source,” McCuskey says. “Through our commitment to the strategic plan, ACUHO-I is striving to deliver programs to help our professionals excel in their work and to help our campuses serve our students at the highest level.”

Headlining ACUHO-I’s 2017 ventures is the release of an online campus housing index, which will provide benchmarking services for college and university housing operations across the globe.

“This is a game-changing opportunity for schools to benchmark campus operations as well as staff compensation and benefits against other institutions,” McCuskey says.

McCuskey previously served as a faculty member for ACUHO-I's Chief Housing Officer Training Institute and National Housing Training Institute and served as chair of the ACUHO-I Foundation board of trustees. Her term as president runs through the end of the 2017 calendar year.
