Crockpot cooking classes available in July

Two crockpot cooking demonstrations will be held this summer in the Demonstration Kitchen at the Córdova Recreational Sports Center.

Crockpot cooking demonstrations are $20 each and are held at 12:15-12:45 p.m. on Fridays in the Demonstration Kitchen. Each crockpot cooking demonstration will provide participants an interactive cooking experience and a take-home meal for four.

Summer 2017 crockpot cooking demonstration schedule:

* July 14: Easy Barbecue Chicken with Fresh Veggie Slaw

* July 21: Chicken Teriyaki Quinoa Bowls

Participants are encouraged to bring a crockpot or a container to take home the meal.

In addition to the crockpot cooking demonstrations, there are two other scheduled cooking demonstrations available this summer. They are Vegetarian Meals (July 13) and Mediterranean Meals (July 26). These demonstrations are $10 per person and are held at 6-7 p.m. in the Demonstration Kitchen.

Cooking demonstrations are open to Purdue affiliates, and participants should register at least 24 hours in advance of the program. Sign up for cooking demonstrations online or by visiting Member Services at the Co-Rec.

The Demonstration Kitchen staff strives to make cooking accessible to everyone by demonstrating delicious recipes and menus that are quick, easy and affordable. They provide a variety of demonstrations and programs in order to accommodate varying interests, ages and abilities.

The Demonstration Kitchen is also available for private cooking demonstrations for staff or club retreats, residence hall programs or sorority and fraternity programs. Groups can choose from a variety of menus, and cooking instructors will take care of grocery shopping, preparation and cleanup.

The Demonstration Kitchen is also available for rental for meetings, celebrations and team building. The kitchen can be reserved for students, faculty and staff.
