Proposals sought for Susan Bulkeley Butler Research Fellowship

The Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence is now taking proposals for the Susan Bulkeley Butler Research Fellowship. The fellowships are open to faculty, staff, programs, and graduate students or postdocs within the entire Purdue system.

These fellowships are designed to provide funds for a research-to-practice project that would benefit women in higher education, as is consistent with the Butler Center mission. Because these are research-to-practice projects, fellowship funds can support original scholarship in discovery, learning, and/or engagement, or can be used for "practice," meaning implementation of research findings with assessment.

Individual and team or program submissions are accepted. Proposals should include no more than two single-spaced pages outlining:

* Overview of project.
* Plan to gather and analyze data or plan to implement "practice."
* Funding needed to conduct project.
* Timeline for completion.
* Explanation of how project supports the mission of the Butler Center.
* One- to two-page bio, resume, or CV.

The selected individual(s) will receive up to $5,000 funding to conduct their project plans and have one year to complete their project and prepare a presentation based on the results. This presentation will be scheduled for the Spring 2018 Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence program.

Nominations are due by April 28. The selected fellow(s) will be announced on May 1. A reception, which is free and open to all, will be held on May 4 to honor the selected individual(s) and to celebrate the end of the semester.

Questions should be directed to Patrice Buzzanell, the Butler Chair and director of the Butler Center, at buzzanel@purdue.edu.

For submissions, use the Qualtrics link on the center's website here.
