The Purdue Farmers Market will reopen today (May 11) at the north end of Memorial Mall.

Each week from May 11 through July 27, the market will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays, and from Aug. 3 through Oct. 26, the market will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursdays.

The Purdue Farmers Market, organized by Purdue Campus Master Planning and Sustainability, has a host of produce and locally prepared food, including lunches and sweets.

With campus construction and the State Street Redevelopment Project work, attendees are asked to plan their route to the Farmers Market. Pedestrians accessing the market from south of State Street should cross State Street at the designated pedestrian crossings at Marsteller or Grant streets. Motorists are encouraged to park in the Grant Street Parking Garage or the parking lot north of the Armory (for those with “A” permits only).

The Purdue Farmers Market is one of three farmers markets. The two other markets are held as follows:

* Historic Lafayette Farmers Market. Open 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturdays from May through October on Fifth Street between Main and Columbia streets in downtown Lafayette.

* Sagamore West Farmers Market. Open 3:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays from May through October in Cumberland Park at 3101 N. Salisbury St., West Lafayette.

More information about the community farmers markets is available at www.lafayettefarmersmarket.com. More information about the Purdue Farmers Market also is available on Facebook and Twitter.
