Center for Healthy Living introduces new dietitian-led weight loss classes
The Center for Healthy Living introduces a new, free, weight-loss class series for benefits-eligible faculty and staff on the West Lafayette campus. "Eating with Ellen" is an innovative, six-week weight-loss series led by registered dietitian Ellen Welch. Individuals who have been struggling to lose weight and are looking for a new approach to long-term weight loss are encouraged to attend.
According to Welch, participants in the program will be provided guidance and encouragement on how to make lifelong changes in eating behavior, food choices and activity levels. In addition, participants will have the chance to view a healthy cooking demonstration.
"I'm looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experience in regards to nutrition and weight loss with our patients," Welch says. "The program is designed to give participants extra support from the group sessions, which is important. Weight loss can be very frustrating and together we will learn skills and share in that journey. The team at the Center for Healthy Living will be with you every step of the way."
The six-week program begins Sept. 12 and meets on Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m. in the Córdova Recreational Sports Center (Co-Rec), Conference Room 2236.
Those interested need to register by Sept. 11 via https://eatingwithellen.eventbrite.com. The password to register is boilerup. Once logged in, follow the steps to complete the registration.
Employees without computer access can call 765-494-5239 to register. Limited seats are available for this small group format.
