Open enrollment begins today; additional details to follow

Benefits open enrollment begins today (Oct. 23) and runs through 6 p.m. EST on Nov. 10. A dedicated enrollment website has been created to provide detailed information about benefits enrollment for 2018. All employees are asked to actively enroll during this open enrollment window.

Here are the highlights of what employees will see in their enrollment guides, which will be delivered to campus addresses starting today:

* The same three medical plan options will be offered again in 2018.

* Benefit enrollment will take place through Benefitfocus, the new benefit enrollment and management tool introduced in July. The tool can be accessed any time through the OneCampus Portal with a career account username and password.

* CVS Caremark will become Purdue’s prescription drug administrator for 2018, replacing Express Scripts. Welcome letters will be mailed to employee homes during the first week of open enrollment, and CVS Caremark representatives will be on campus for one-on-one meetings during open enrollment.

* A wellness incentive focused on encouraging health awareness and engaging with a primary care provider -- offering eligible employees the opportunity to earn additional contributions to their health savings account (HSA) and health reimbursement account (HRA) -- has been added.

* Two new voluntary insurance plans (Supplemental Hospital Insurance and Universal Life Insurance) have been added as election options.

Please note: All employees are strongly encouraged to actively enroll for 2018 benefits. On page 4 of the enrollment guide, it was inadvertently printed that tobacco certification status would roll forward; however, Benefitfocus will require a new tobacco certification for all staff. This can be completed as you make your 2018 benefit elections in Benefitfocus.

Throughout the three-week open enrollment time frame, several tools and resources will be offered to ease employees' way through the process.

Additional information will be provided via Purdue Today, emails and the dedicated enrollment website. Enrollment guides, mailed to campus addresses, will be available this week.

Benefits’ staff members are committed to providing excellent customer service and resources -- during open enrollment and all year -- to help employees and their families best use these valuable programs. As a reminder, the Human Resources customer service location in Stewart Center, Room G66 will be closed through Nov. 10 to accommodate open enrollment staff needs at the various walk-in labs and presentations across campus.

Questions should be directed to Human Resources Benefits for West Lafayette at hr@purdue.edu or by calling 765-494-2222. Employees at the Fort Wayne and Purdue Northwest campuses should contact the Human Resources department at their respective campuses.
