Purdue to initiate dean search for College of Education
Jay Akridge, interim provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity, has announced the start of a national search for the next dean of Purdue's College of Education.
Dean Maryann Santos will complete her term and step down from her deanship effective June 30, 2018. She plans to return to a faculty position in the 2018-19 academic year.
“Under Maryann’s leadership, Purdue’s College of Education is positioned as a national leader in K-12 STEM education,” Akridge says. “She has been a terrific advocate for the college, fostering growth in online degree programs, graduate enrollment and external funding. We are now looking for someone who will build on this strong foundation and work with the outstanding faculty, staff and students who make up the College of Education to take the college to exciting new levels of excellence.”

* Jennifer Jeffries, senior director of strategic communication and programs.
* Chrystal Johnson, associate professor of social studies education.
* Yukiko Maeda, associate professor of educational psychology and research methodology.
* Dorothy Reed, assistant dean for engagement, and head of academic services.
* Jennifer Richardson, professor of learning design and technology.
* Mandy Rispoli, associate professor of special education.
* Ala Samarapungavan, professor of educational psychology and research methodology.
* Heather Servaty-Seib, associate head of educational studies, and professor of counseling psychology.
* Wayne Wright, associate dean for research, graduate programs and faculty development, and professor and Barbara I. Cook Chair of Literacy and Language.
The search advisory committee will be assisted by Brenda Coulson, director of talent acquisition.
