Presidential Lecture Series event with Rahm Emanuel canceled due to schedule issues

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has been forced to cancel a lecture that had been scheduled for April 16 at Purdue University's West Lafayette campus.

Emanuel was invited by President Mitch Daniels to take part in his Presidential Lecture Series, an ongoing series of conversations on policy, leadership, culture, society and other fields of interest for both the academic community and the community at large. A scheduling conflict will now prevent Emanuel from joining Daniels for the lecture and audience question period that typically follows.

The mayor and the president regret any inconvenience the cancellation causes to those who were planning to attend.

The Presidential Lecture Series, in 2017-18, has featured Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Joseph Ellis, alumnus and World Food Prize laureate Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina, and former U.S. Sen. and Medal of Honor winner Bob Kerrey. Future lectures will be announced as they are scheduled.
