Boiler Con to celebrate comics, video games and more

Those who enjoy comic books, video games and the surrounding culture can look forward to Boiler Con on Saturday (April 7). The event, considered to be Purdue West Lafayette's version of Comic Con, is presented by the Purdue Student Union Board.

Boiler Con, scheduled for 3-8 p.m. in the Purdue Memorial Union's ballrooms, will host several vendors, guests and student organizations with a shared interest in such entertainment. There is no cost to attend, and there is no registration except to participate in a cosplay contest. Also, vendors will have merchandise for sale.

The event will have several guest segments:

* 3:30-4:15 p.m.: Panel with Bernard Chang, former Imagineer and comic book creator. North Ballroom.
* 5:15-6 p.m.: Workshop with Bernard Chang. Anniversary Drawing Room (second floor, east end).
* 5:15-6:30 p.m.: Panel and workshop with Mackey McCandlish, a creator of the Call of Duty games. North Ballroom.
* 6:30-7:30 p.m.: Autograph signing for both artists. North Ballroom.
