Discovery Park announces Integrative Data Science Initiative research proposal finalists
On Thursday (May 3), Discovery Park will hold the oral presentations for the 16 Integrative Data Science Initiative finalists who will present their proposals to a panel of judges that will determine the winning teams. All proposals represent high-risk, high-payoff projects targeted to the focus areas of heath care; defense; ethics, society and policy; and fundamentals, methods and algorithms.
Discovery Park received 52 proposals addressing multidisciplinary data science applications. Proposal teams represented 10 colleges and involved 172 Purdue faculty from 48 departments.
All presentations are open to faculty, staff and guests as observers. Presentations are scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. in Discovery Park’s Burton D. Morgan Center, Room 121. A list of the finalists, as well as their presentation times, is on the Integrative Data Science Initiative website.
Future calls for research proposals will focus on other strategic areas such as manufacturing, sustainability, food security.
