Event to celebrate teaching excellence by grad students

The Purdue Teaching Academy and the Graduate School will present graduate student teaching awards Tuesday (April 24) at the 20th annual Celebration of Graduate Student Teaching Excellence. The awards ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. at Ross-Ade Pavilion's Shively Club. The ceremony is open to the public.

The following awards will be presented:

* Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award, the highest recognition given to teaching assistants on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus.

* The Teaching Academy’s Graduate Instructional Development Certificates, Graduate Teaching Certificates, and Advanced Graduate Teaching Certificates.

* Teaching Academy Graduate Teaching awards, for which departments nominate their top teaching assistants.

A full list of graduate student recognitions and honorees will be published in Purdue Today following the event.

Faculty will be recognized at the Faculty Awards Convocation on May 8, and awards to outstanding students will be presented during their respective commencement ceremonies.
