Grandparents University invites alumni back to college

Purdue Conferences and the Purdue Alumni Association will host Purdue’s inaugural Grandparents University June 28-29.

Grandparents University is a two-day program that allows grandparents or other adult relatives and children ages 7-14 to live the college life at Purdue. Participants will have the opportunity to attend classes in a major of their choice, eat meals and stay overnight in the residence halls and explore campus. A tentative program schedule and location details can be found here.

Grandparents do not have to be alumni of Purdue to attend, but at least one family member in attendance must be. The program requires a ratio of no more than two children per adult.

The cost of the program for one adult and child pair is $240. Each additional adult costs $140, and each additional child costs $80. The program fee includes meals, instructional materials, campus transportation, tours, entertainment and a T-shirt. A graduation ceremony will be held at the conclusion of the program.

Those who wish to participate in the program must register online in advance. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Families with multiple grandchildren and grandparents who wish to have separate majors must fill out separate registration forms.
