A small celebration was held Wednesday (April 25) to celebrate the reopening of Horticulture Park, which was closed for a portion of 2016 and the majority of 2017 due to work associated with the State Street Redevelopment Project.

During the closure, Todd’s Creek was realigned and over eight acres worth of native wetland plants were installed in the park along with some new trees and shrubs.

The park and trail system were also cleaned up, and 11 pedestrian bridges were installed. When the State Street Redevelopment Project is complete, Horticulture Park will be connected to the larger, surrounding trail system that will run along Stadium Avenue, McCormick Road and State Street.
