Purdue Writing Showcase set for Tuesday

The Introductory Composition Program at Purdue and the Professional Writing Program on Tuesday (April 10) will present the annual Purdue Writing Showcase.

Students and instructors will be displaying their work from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Stewart Center, rooms 302-313. The symposium features the year’s most innovative print and digital projects produced by introductory composition and professional writing students, as well as pedagogical presentations from instructors.

The Purdue Writing Showcase allows its participants to demonstrate research and creativity while practicing professional development skills. Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with writers from across the University about their work. Cash prizes are awarded to the winning presentations in 10 categories, and the event is free and open to the public.

At the 2017 Purdue Writing Showcase, Anna Poznyak presented her project, “Yeas and Nays for MENA Migration to Europe," and won first place in the Best Remediation to Presentation Design category. When asked about the event, Anna said, “Overall, I really liked this experience. I think it was really helpful. You kind of have this feeling that the paper you spent time on wasn’t just like another assignment, but it was really worth your effort.”
