Office of Engagement names 2018-19 Scholarship of Engagement fellows
The Office of Engagement has announced the 2018-19 Scholarship of Engagement fellows. The cohort will consist of assistant professors and associate professors from the West Lafayette campus, Purdue University Northwest and Purdue University Fort Wayne.
The fellows are:
* Jason Ackerson, assistant professor, West Lafayette.
* Jenny Bay, associate professor, West Lafayette.
* Jeong-il Cho, associate professor, Purdue Fort Wayne.
* Jennifer DeBoer, assistant professor, West Lafayette.
* Jerry Holt, associate professor, Purdue Northwest.
* Elizabeth Keller, assistant professor, Purdue Fort Wayne.
* Michael Kirchner, assistant professor, Purdue Fort Wayne.
* Monica Miller, clinical associate professor, West Lafayette.
* Christina Ragan, assistant professor, Purdue Northwest.
* Ellen Schellhase, clinical associate professor, West Lafayette.
* Julia Smith, assistant professor, Purdue Fort Wayne.
* Hui-Hui Wang, assistant professor, West Lafayette.
These individuals will work with a panel of senior faculty mentors, from the Purdue system, who have a history of successful scholarship of engagement. The purpose of the program is to foster the development of the scholarship of engagement for faculty throughout the Purdue system in support of the promotion and/or tenure process. Fellows will be responsible for identifying and completing a project with societal benefit and scholarly output; work with the Office of Engagement’s team of mentors to develop short- and long-term project goals; and demonstrate understanding of the scholarship of engagement through completion of a scholarly work.
