Week of educator presentations to discuss elements of online success

The Purdue campus family -- Purdue Fort Wayne, Purdue Global, Purdue Northwest, and Purdue West Lafayette -- is celebrating National Distance Learning Week together for the first time with the partnership of annual digital education events by the University and Purdue Global.

This five-day online conference Nov. 5-9 will premiere the inaugural blending of both Purdue University NDLW celebration events as well as Purdue Global's annual online conference, PGVillage. Events begin on Nov. 5, kicking off at 10 a.m. ET. This historical event will feature speakers representing a vast diversity across the Purdue University system, including respected keynotes, invited guest speakers plus student, faculty and staff presenters.

In support of Purdue University's “Exploring Building Blocks of Successful Online Programs” theme, PG Village conference strands include Leadership & Organization, Classroom Foundations, Student Focus, NextGen Learning, and Scholarship, all crucial aspects of any online program.

In fact, a new report, "Grade Increase: Tracking Distance Education in the United States," by the Babson Survey Research Group, reveals that distance student enrollments have increased for the 14th straight year in 2016.

Kathleen S. Ives, CEO and executive director of the Online Learning Consortium, has said, “The growth in distance learning enrollments, in part, reflects the commitment to quality and innovation by those designing and delivering distance programs. Competition for students is more intense than ever, requiring institutions to continue to advance the quality and relevance of their programs, or risk losing ground to those who are successfully serving the education and career goals of the modern learner.”

The Purdue Global annual online conference schedule includes the NDLW sessions, and each will be free to view either live or recorded after the event is complete.
