Four Purdue women honored at YWCA annual banquet

The YWCA honored four Purdue-affiliated women at its banquet on March 5.

* Vanessa Pacheco, coordinator for civic engagement in the office of Civic Engagement and Leadership Development, was honored with the 2019 Woman of Innovation award.

* Cynthia Koh-Knox Sharp, clinical associate professor of pharmacy practice, was honored as a Woman of Distinction.

* Sarah Johnson, who retired from the University after a 37-year career working in Purdue Residence Hall Dining Services, was honored as a Woman of Distinction.

* Grayce Lechtenberg, president of Purdue Women's Club from 1981 to 1982 and honorary lifetime member, was recognized as the 2019 Woman of Wisdom.

The annual banquet recognizes women who have made outstanding and inspirational achievements in volunteer or professional roles and have also demonstrated leadership, role modeling qualities and community involvement. Three other women from Greater Lafayette were also honored.
