APSAC awards grants to 23 employees for professional development

APSAC has awarded individual professional development grants to 23 administrative and professional staff members.

Grants up to $750 are awarded twice a year. APSAC, the Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee, presented a total of $13,996 for its spring 2019 grants. Applicants had submitted 56 eligible requests. The fall application period will open in September.

Grant recipients, their positions and the areas in which they work are:

Paige Allen, academic advisor, Veterinary Administration.
Colleen Banter, assistant director, Exploratory Studies.
Fritz Bennett, associate production manager, Theatre.
Li Yuan Bermel, managing director, Women's Global Health Institute.

Chris Brannan, graphic designer, Purdue University Press.
Barbara Brown, research associate, Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences.
Jan (Janine) Evans, costume shop manager, Theatre.
Kirsten Gibson, technology writer/editor, ITaP Communications.

Laura Gray, lead contract analyst, Sponsored Program Services, Vice President and Assistant Treasurer.
Tara Hatfield, managing advisor, Purdue Healthcare Advisors. 
Julie Jones, extension educator, senior, Field Extension Educators.
Min Li, assistant director, international, Krannert Professional Development Center.

(James) Sam McCollum, 4-H extension educator, 4-H.
Cassandra Pendleton, academic advisor, Engineering Technology.
Pamela Phegley, veterinary nursing clinical coordinator, Veterinary Administration.
James Sadler, associate director, Undergraduate Research.

David Sederberg, outreach coordinator, Physics and Astronomy.
Hong Shaddy, assistant director of online learning, School of Management.
Erin Slevin, community wellness coordinator, Nutrition Education Program, Nutrition Science.
Demarcus Sneed, health and human sciences extension educator, College of Agriculture.

Matthew Tang, health physicist, Radiological and Environmental Management.
Carrie Underwood, assistant director, Span Plan Nontraditional Student Services.
