Finalists for director of Purdue Policy Research Institute to begin on-campus presentations today

Three finalists for the position of director of the Purdue Policy Research Institute at Discovery Park will undergo interviews and make on-campus presentations, which will be held today (May 2), Friday (May 3) and Monday (May 6).

Paul Griffin, professor of industrial engineering, director of the Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering and chair of the search committee, said that as part of the process, each finalist will make a 45-minute public presentation and then take questions from the audience.

"We have three excellent candidates,” Griffin says. “I would like to encourage faculty, staff and students to attend these seminars and provide us with their feedback."

The center's next director will succeed Rosalee Clawson, who is serving as interim director.

Candidates and their presentation times are below:

* Today (May 2): Natasha Duncan, interim associate dean for academic affairs and clinical associate professor, Honors College. "A Road Map to Moving PPRI Forward." 3-4 p.m. Burton D. Morgan Center, Room 121.

* Friday (May 3): Satish Ukkusuri, professor in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, and director of the Urban Mobility Networks and Intelligence (UMNI Lab). "Amplifying the Impact of Policy Research in a Convergent Landscape." 2:15-3:15 p.m. Burton D. Morgan Center, Room 121.

* Monday (May 6): Stacey Connaughton, associate professor in the Brian Lamb School of Communication, College of Liberal Arts, and director of the Purdue Peace Project in the Purdue Policy Research Institute. “Leading PPRI Together: Catalyzing Multi-disciplinary Research and Education, Forging Sustainable Connections Locally and Globally, and Creating Impact Among Policymakers and Beyond." 9-10 a.m. Burton D. Morgan Center, Room 121.
