Purdue’s WIEP to offer summer event geared toward girls interested in engineering

Purdue’s Women in Engineering Program will offer rising seventh- through ninth-graders a free daylong engineering event called “Engineering FYI: For Your Imagination” from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on July 13.

The event will focus on girls interested in learning about engineering opportunities and how engineers make a difference in the world. “Engineering FYI: For Your Imagination” will offer group hands-on projects and will enhance the student’s imagination, creativity, leadership and teamwork skills.

Students will be supervised and connected with a trained College of Engineering student who will serve as a mentor. Lunch will be provided to participants. Parents of registered students may attend an informational session the day of the event.

Online registration is required and spaces are limited. For more information, go to the event webpage.
