STAR program continues through July 12; expect increased campus activity

The Purdue's Summer Transition, Advising and Registration orientation program is well underway in welcoming the newest cohort of Boilermakers to college life. More than 6,000 incoming students and about 10,000 of their guests will spend a full day on the West Lafayette campus as part of this year's program, which started June 10 and runs through July 12 (excluding holidays and weekends).

During the program, new undergraduate students will meet their academic advisor, request their fall courses, and more.

STAR attendees arrive on campus before 8 a.m. and wrap up activities around 5 p.m. Attendees will park at the Ross-Ade North Stadium Lot and take shuttles to central campus.

There will be increased pedestrian activity in the morning around Purdue Memorial Union and Elliott Hall of Music, and during lunchtime around Ford Dining Court. Students and guests will attend sessions around Wilmeth Active Learning Center throughout the day.

“Every year we take added steps to welcome our new students and guests to campus in the best way possible,” says Craig Johnson, director of Orientation Programs. “We’re continually thankful for our close campus partners and the Purdue community for helping us welcome home these new Boilermakers.”

STAR participants and campus partners are encouraged to download the PurdueGuide app to view the daily STAR schedule. After downloading the app, select the “Campus” tab in the lower right corner and tap “Find Guides.”

• Select the STAR guide that correlates with the date you’d like to view and tap “Add Guide.”  
• Tap the back button. You will now be able to access the STAR guide under the “My Guides” section at the bottom of the Campus tab.

Individuals may also view the full schedule on a desktop computer by visiting campuskit.io, typing in “Purdue University” and following the prompts. Note that Purdue staff and students will use their Purdue career account credentials (and BoilerKey two-factor authentication if activated) to log in to the mobile or desktop app. Incoming students who have not yet activated BoilerKey will log in with their Purdue username and password, while guests will create a guest account using a personal email address.
