Thank you from the Spring Fling committee

Thousands of faculty, staff, graduate staff and retirees enjoyed Spring Fling on May 22. Attendees enjoyed food, games, a car show, golfing and the fitness walk among other events.

Over 800 people enjoyed the fitness walk this year and 70 people enjoyed the golf outing at the Kampen and Ackerman-Allen golf courses. Twenty-six vehicles were on display, which included cars, trucks, motorcycles and special interest vehicles. A total of 87 door prizes were won this year. The Spring Fling Committee wishes to thank the following groups for their hard work and dedication to this year’s event:

* Physical Facilities staff who handled trash and recycling equipment and set up informational signs, as well as the “bull gang” for the tables and chairs.

* Staff from the Office of Campus Master Planning & Sustainability who work hard each year to help create a Zero Waste event.

* Staff from Purdue Dining and Catering who prepared the food.

* Staff from Earhart Ford and Hillenbrand Dining Courts, Central Culinary Strategic Sourcing, and Central Production Kitchen who assisted in setup and teardown.

* Staff from Central Culinary Strategic Sourcing and Central Production Kitchen who delivered the food.

* Staff from Ford Dining Court who coordinated the popcorn.

* Staff from Central Production Kitchen who coordinated the food carryout.

* Staff from Human Resources who coordinated the fitness walk and vehicle show.

* All staff and retirees who volunteered to serve food, soda, popcorn, and ice cream.

* All staff and retirees who volunteered to assist with the fitness walk.

* Staff from Purdue Dining and Catering who coordinated volunteers.

* Members of the Purdue University Retirees Association.

* Staff from the Córdova Recreational Sports Center who instructed in Zumba and yoga. Also to those who set up games and the needed equipment.

* Staff from MMDC for providing helium for all the balloons.

* Areas and departments that donated prizes for bingo.

* Staff from the Center for Healthy Living for providing screenings.

* Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee members who distributed cups.

* Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee members who coordinated bingo.

* Purdue police and fire staff who maintained safety in and around Memorial Mall.

* Thanks to all those who were able to donate blood.

* Thanks to all those who donated pet supplies for our local shelters.
