Purdue United Way’s ePledge now open for 2019 campaign

Purdue’s 2019 United Way campaign officially kicks off Sept. 11,  but ePledge, an online pledge system, is already open for donors to show support toward the campaign.

The campaign will run through Nov. 20 with a goal of raising $800,000 for human service agencies in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties.

David Reingold, the Justin S. Morrill Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, is this year’s campaign chair. Gary Bertoline, dean of the Purdue Polytechnic Institute, is the vice chair.

“In supporting the United Way, we contribute to our shared humanity, to creating a more resilient and stronger community, to paying forward the prosperity we enjoy today so that others around us might find their prosperity as well,” Reingold says. “Beyond that, supporting United Way grants us another opportunity to be active, engaged citizens, participating in our civic life and extending a hand beyond the circles in which we find ourselves on a daily basis.”

Through ePledge, donors can make an unrestricted gift to the United Way of Greater Lafayette or can choose a specific agency for their donations. Gifts can be made in various ways, including payroll deduction or a one-time donation. To make a gift via ePledge, visit www.purdue.edu/unitedway and click on the button "Give Now."

Faculty and staff who donate through ePledge will receive a thank you email and a Purdue United Way poster from their department.

The Purdue United Way campaign’s theme this year is “Building on Our Legacy.”
