Various WL campus facilities announce reduced hours for winter break

Reduced hours of operation will be in effect during winter break at a number of campus offices and services on the West Lafayette campus. Some have begun adjusted hours, and some of the changes will last through Jan. 12. Spring semester will begin Jan. 13.

Nearly all operations will be closed on the official University holidays of Dec. 24, 25, and 26 and Jan. 1. As in past years, the majority of campus buildings will be closed over the holidays and winter recess. To arrange or confirm continued access to a building, faculty and staff will need to contact their building deputy.

Center for Healthy Living on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus will be closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, and will close at 4 p.m. on Dec. 31. Outside of those dates, CHL will be open regular business hours, including during the winter recess Dec. 23-30. CHL website

The Fidelity Investor Center in Purdue Memorial Union will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 20 and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 2. Website

Purdue Memorial Union and Stewart Center will be closed Dec. 21-Jan. 1. On Dec. 16-20 and Jan. 2-12, building hours will be 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Most retail dining venues at the Union and around campus are closed through Jan. 11 or 12. Notable openings at the Union and Stewart Center:

  • Pappy’s Sweet Shop — open 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 4-10, and until 8 p.m. Jan. 11-12.
  • Sagamore Restaurant — 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Dec. 16-19.
  • Starbucks at PMU — 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 16-19, and until 2:30 p.m. Dec. 20. Also 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 6-10.
  • Urban Market — 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 16-20. Also 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Jan. 6-10.
  • Villa Fresh Italian — 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Dec. 16-19. Also 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Jan. 12.
  • Union Rack and Roll — Noon-8 p.m. Dec. 16-19. Also noon-8 p.m. Jan. 2-10. Regular hours of 6 a.m.-midnight resume Jan. 11.
  • Stewart Market — 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Jan. 6-10.
  • The Union Club Hotel is closed for its transformational renovation project. It is to reopen in August.

Purdue University Libraries will close all libraries by 5 p.m. Friday (Dec. 20), and they will continue to be closed Dec. 21 through Jan. 1, then also Jan. 4-5 and Jan. 11-12. Most will have 8 a.m.-5 p.m. hours Jan. 2-3 and Jan. 6-10. Details by library are on winter break tabs here.

Recreation & Wellness will rotate between two schedules for its buildings and facilities during the break. One is applicable Dec. 21-23, Dec. 26-30 and Jan. 4-5. The other will be in effect Dec. 16-20, Jan. 2-3 and Jan. 6-10. Closures will be on Dec. 24, 25 and 31 and Jan. 1. Standard semester hours will resume Jan. 11. Each type of schedule pertains to the Córdova Recreational Sports Center, the Burke Aquatic Center and the Turf Recreational Exercise Center, known as TREC. This includes the pools, and climbing and bouldering walls and various services. Details are here.

Parking, Transportation, Materials Management and Distribution and the Purdue Surplus Store will be closed Dec. 23 through Jan. 1 and reopen on Jan. 2. Transportation requests prearranged by Dec. 20 will be supported through the self-service kiosk during the break.
