Creating individual wellness vision for 2020 to be focus of Healthy Boiler workshop

Purdue’s Healthy Boiler Program is a multifaceted approach to employees’ overall well-being composed of five pillars: behavioral health, financial wellness, physical health, social wellness and work-life integration. In support of the five Healthy Boiler pillars -- and to help employees set their priorities, reach their goals and take charge of their health -- the “Create Your 2020 Wellness Vision” workshop will take place on Jan. 22.

Led by Cheryl Laszynski, registered nurse health coach at the Center for Healthy Living (CHL) on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus, the workshop will allow attendees to create a strategic plan for themselves complete with doable action steps.

“Creating a wellness vision is very individualized,” Laszynski said. “Everyone’s vision will look differently depending on what areas they want to focus on and what will work for them in regard to staying on track. Essentially, we are creating the best version of each participant in regard to what aspects of their overall wellness they want to focus on for 2020. No matter what their goals are, I’m here to help them find the best way to reach them and stay motivated along the way.”

The workshop will take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. in Stewart Center, Room 278. Those interested should register by Jan. 21 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. The registration link can be found under the “Engage” tab, “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage. Workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan.

Questions about the workshop can be directed to CHL at 765-494-0111. CHL is open for medical appointments from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
