Provost's Office offering workshop for newly promoted associate professors

The Office of the Provost will hold a workshop designed for newly promoted associate professors (tenured, clinical/professional, and research) from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 8 via Zoom.

Based on feedback from the Collaborative in Academic Careers on Higher Education (COACHE) survey, the sessions in the workshop were designed to include topics relevant for improving the clarity of responsibilities and expectations for plotting the course to full professor rank. This year, the agenda covers "How Does the Role of Associate Professor Differ from that of Assistant Professor?," "Expectations for Promotion to Full Professor," "How Awards Can Increase Your Profile" and "Mentoring, Sponsoring, and Coaching Junior Faculty."

The workshop will be facilitated by Peter Hollenbeck, vice provost for faculty affairs, and Lisa Mauer, associate vice provost for faculty affairs.

Registration is required by Sept. 4 via Qualtrics. For more information, contact Angela Pickett at angela@purdue.edu.
