Spring 2021 service-learning fellowships awarded for Purdue-community partnerships
Purdue’s Office of Engagement has selected seven Purdue faculty for its spring 2021 Service-Learning Fellows Program. The program fosters the development and institutionalization of service-learning courses and curricula, projects and scholarly pursuits at Purdue as well as strengthens collaborative efforts and outcomes in communities.
Throughout the spring semester, the fellows, in partnership with service-learning staff and community partners, will explore where service-learning fits into our current reality of the COVID-19 pandemic and systemic racial injustice. Participants will collaboratively develop the skills and tools needed to deliver effective, mutually beneficial service-learning courses. Each partnership receives up to $3,000 to fund its project.
The spring 2021 Service-Learning Fellows are:
- Amanda Case, assistant professor, counseling psychology, and Christy Wessel Powell, assistant professor, curriculum and instruction, Purdue West Lafayette.
- Eugene Chan, associate professor, consumer science, Purdue West Lafayette.
- Suining Ding, professor and director, interior design, Purdue Fort Wayne.
- Sarah LeBlanc, assistant professor, communication, Purdue Fort Wayne.
- Zoeanna Mayhook, assistant professor and business information specialist, Libraries and School of Information Studies, Purdue West Lafayette.
