Wellness Council of Indiana renews AchieveWell 5 Star designation for Purdue

Human Resources has been informed that the Wellness Council of Indiana has renewed Purdue's 5 Star AchieveWELL designation. Purdue first received the 5 Star AchieveWELL designation in 2019.

The Wellness Council of Indiana developed the AchieveWELL program to assist employers in creating a corporate culture that encourages and supports employee health through workplace wellness efforts.

The University’s designation demonstrates that the organization has developed a culture of health and well-being. The 5 Star renewal notice recognized:

AchieveWELL is divided into three levels: 3 Star, 4 Star (for which Purdue was recognized as in 2018) and 5 Star. Each level requires fulfillment of a set of standards. Purdue will be recognized at the 2021 Indiana Wellness Summit on Aug. 12-13 in Indianapolis.

“We are again honored to be recognized by the Wellness Council of Indiana for our continued efforts to make overall health and wellness a priority for Purdue University and the faculty and staff who make up our community,” says Candace Shaffer, senior director of benefits in Human Resources. “Our goals were elevated after 2018’s four-star recognition, and since that time we have worked tirelessly on behalf of Purdue employees to add, enhance and provide accessible health and wellness resources and programs – focused on the five pillars of the Healthy Boiler Program: physical health, financial wellness, behavioral health, social wellness and work-life integration.

"The renewal of our 5 Star AchieveWELL designation is a testament to the continued dedication of the benefits team, staff at the Center for Healthy Living and many other areas and individuals across campus who are committed to supporting the Healthy Boiler Program and helping us enhance and strengthen it to best serve the diverse population of individuals we serve. 2021 and the years to come will be no different.”
