ACE Campus Food Pantry to host food drive during week of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

In addition to the traditional Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, the ACE Campus Food Pantry is coordinating a food drive with the support of the Roger C. Stewart Center for Leadership & Professional Development; the Division of Diversity and Inclusion; Intercollegiate Athletics; Campus Support Staff Advisory Committee (CSSAC); Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee (MaPSAC); Purdue Student Government; Purdue Graduate Student Government; Fraternity, Sorority and Cooperative Life; and University Residences. 

The food drive will take place Jan. 18-21. In order to follow Protect Purdue guidelines, anyone wanting to donate may do so by selecting a location from the options listed below or by donating on behalf of a corresponding organization. The ACE Pantry van (recognizable by purple polka dots around the vehicle) will be parked outside of locations during the times listed, and items may be donated by walking or driving up to the van.  

  • Jan. 18: 1-2 p.m. between Hovde Hall and Schleman Hall; 2-4 p.m. at the Class of 1950 Lecture Hall; 5:30-7 p.m. at Tarkington Hall.
  • Jan. 19: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Mackey Arena; 2-3 p.m. at Purdue Graduate Student Center; 5:30-7 p.m. at Hillenbrand Hall.
  • Jan. 20: 1-2 p.m. at Krach Leadership Center; 2-4 p.m. at Lilly Hall of Life Sciences; 5:30-7 p.m. at Honors College and Residences.
  • Jan. 21: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at participating Fraternity, Sorority, and Cooperative Life (FSCL) locations. Contact Amanda Oller at oller@purdue.edu.

ACE is a student-led initiative that provides fresh produce, toiletries and a large selection of shelf-stable foods and snacks for Purdue students, faculty and staff so that they have the basic items they need to thrive while at Purdue. ACE opened its doors in August 2015 and now hosts more than 3,000 client visits a year on average. All items at ACE are free of charge to clients with a Purdue-issued identification card.
