Recipients of 2022 Focus Awards announced
The Office of Institutional Equity has announced the recipients of the 2022 Focus Awards, which are awarded annually to acknowledge and celebrate Purdue community members’ efforts to further the University’s commitment to disability accessibility and disability diversity initiatives.
This year, four individuals and two organizations were presented with Focus Awards in recognition of their valuable contributions to raising awareness and furthering access to education, work and play for individuals with disabilities.
The 2022 winners are:
- Student: Kanika Garg, College of Health and Human Sciences.
- Faculty: A.J. Schwichtenberg, associate professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies.
- Staff: Max Dryer, web developer for Student Success, and Virginia Cabrera, senior assistant director of orientation programs in Student Success.
- Organization: Purdue Trap and Skeet Club and Students Helping Ignite Needed Esteem (S.H.I.N.E.).
