Three honored by CSSAC for excellence

Three awards for outstanding work, performance and attitude were presented recently by CSSAC, the Campus Support Staff Advisory Committee.
The awards, which were announced at Tuesday’s (Dec. 13) CSSAC meeting, were:
* The Eudoxia Girard Martin Memorial Staff Recognition Award, presented to Tammy Crider, lead administrative assistant in the Department of Sociology.
* CSSAC Excellence Award for Clerical Staff, presented to Ruth Alford, clerk, student activities and organizations, Purdue Memorial Union.
* CSSAC Excellence Award for Service Staff, presented to Ali Miloudi, senior operations clerk, student activities and organizations, Purdue Memorial Union.

Crider’s nominator wrote that she “works diligently to create a more effective department. I know I can be better at my job because Tammy’s heart and mind are constantly dedicated to the department. She is the ultimate team player, and her pleasure in doing her work well makes the sociology department and Purdue a better place.”
Crider has worked with the university since 2016 and said the recognition was especially meaningful knowing that she was nominated by her colleague and that hard work is recognized through honors such as the Eudoxia Girard Martin Award. She received a medallion, a framed description of Martin’s life and a $1,000 honorarium.
Alford’s nominator wrote that she has a “natural aptitude for helping others” and that her “longevity on campus has attributed greatly to her vast knowledge of departments and processes on campus. She is quick to assist people in the building on questions that are outside of our area of responsibility.”
Alford has been with the university for more than 20 years.
A nominator for Miloudi wrote that he “consistently goes above and beyond to help with last-minute requests and changes to rooms. My favorite thing about him is he always says yes in a most gracious way and is expedient about taking care of the request. He shows great initiative by looking ahead at upcoming events to look for possible additional needs or changes,” and that “he is always respectful and friendly to everyone equally.” Miloudi has also been with the university for more than 20 years.
The recipients of the CSSAC Excellence Awards receive a plaque and $1,500 (subject to withholdings). Any member of the university community may make a nomination.
