Human Resources shares information on 2023 benefit deductions, pay statements

Many have seen benefit deduction amounts update according to selections made during open enrollment for 2023. It is important to note the following 2023 pay dates:

  • The first biweekly pay date for 2023 was Jan. 11, 2023, which reflected deductions for late December 2022 and one day for 2023.
  • The second biweekly pay period in January will reflect the ongoing 2023 deduction amounts. 
  • Employees paid on a monthly basis will see their 2023 deductions reflected on their Jan. 31, 2023, pay date.

It’s important to note that benefit rates have been frozen in Benefitfocus, which means the rates for coverage an employee elected during open enrollment will not change during the 2023 calendar if there are any changes that affect their salary. Benefit deduction rates for Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2023, will be based on employee salaries effective on Oct. 17, 2022.  

Employees should review their pay statements and deductions on a regular basis in Employee Self-Service through the OnePurdue Portal to ensure they are correct. If there are concerns, employees should contact Human Resources as soon as possible to report the error. Medical plan premiums are available for review here.
