Implementing small changes can help boost overall well-being

Implementing change to boost well-being is January’s featured topic from SupportLinc, which provides behavioral health services for Purdue’s West Lafayette campus.

As the new year moves forward, some might find themselves feeling disappointed about New Year’s resolutions. However, the focus of SupportLinc’s feature article is to let individuals know that self-improvement can begin with the smallest of changes. And those small changes can improve well-being.

The feature includes a short flash course titled “Change is Constant” as well as five tips to start your wellness journey. They are:

  1. Drink more water
  2. Set a goal for each day
  3. Step outside
  4. Write one affirmation each day
  5. Smile

The article and flash course can be found here. Go to the SupportLinc website to login or create an account if needed. Information on SupportLinc is available here.

Additionally, Calm Sage’s 51 Self-Improvement Tips to Change Your Life article shares more ways to boost well-being, including:

  • Be intentional
  • Build a positive circle
  • Evaluate
  • Learn something new
  • Make a plan

Remember, the path to well-being can be built upon small changes. Get more tips and help with making those small changes by scheduling an appointment with a Purdue health coach. Health coaches are available to meet with benefits-eligible employees from all campuses in-person or via phone.

Call 765-494-0111 to schedule with Cheryl Laszynski (WL), Whitney Soto (WL) or Felicia Warfield (PNW) and 260-481-6651 to schedule with Lindsay Bloom (PFW).
