New captain of patrol selected for Purdue University Police Department

After conducting a formal promotional process, the Purdue University Police Department has announced a new captain, Lt. Andy Standifer.

Lt. Sandifer has been with the department since 2004. He was most recently a night shift patrol supervisor and longtime K-9 handler. As captain of patrol, Lt. Standifer now oversees the patrol division, which is the largest division in the department, and the dispatch center. 

Lt. Standifer began his new role Feb. 13. An official swearing-in ceremony will be held soon.
