Reminder about campus safety and preparedness resources
To members of the Purdue campus community:
Our emergency procedures guide shows what we prepare for and what a potential response might look like.
- For notifications, the Purdue Alert system encompasses everything from emails and desktop alerts to outdoor warning sirens. Please take a moment to ensure that you are signed up to receive emergency text alerts directly to your phone.
- Our up-to-date campus safety status is always on the Campus Safety Status page.
- In an extreme situation, the Purdue.edu homepage will host the most needed information and @LifeAtPurdue Twitter account will broadcast clear and factual information. All other university-affiliated accounts will be locked down. Updates will be published every 15 minutes.
Each of us also has a role in our collective safety and security:
- If you see suspicious or concerning activities, call or text 911.
- Sign up to receive Purdue Alert mobile alerts via text or Twitter.
- Take the online All-Hazards Awareness training for Purdue faculty, staff and students.
Together we work on a daily basis to keep students, faculty and staff safe.
Sincerely,
Patrick Wolfe, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Diversity
Jay Wasson, Vice President for Physical Facilities and Chief Public Safety Officer
