Try a moment of mindfulness to help reduce stress, benefit behavioral health
For many, feeling so busy that they lose track of time is a normal occurrence. Between work, hobbies, friends and family, a moment of mindfulness can help individuals feel more relaxed and less stressed.
In today’s 24/7 world, staying on track at work and at home can be a real challenge. Practicing mindfulness can help individuals ground themselves in the present moment and stay calm during moments of stress, thus improving behavioral health.
SupportLinc, provider of behavioral health services on the West Lafayette campus, shares this short video to help individuals learn more about the benefits of mindfulness and about simple mindfulness techniques that can be incorporated into everyday life. Visit the SupportLinc web portal and the Mindfulness Toolkit for additional resources and information.
Additionally, the Healthy Boiler Portal’s University link provides a variety of short courses, including a behavioral health course titled “Mindfulness for Everyday Life.” Attendees will learn how to live in the moment and cultivate mindfulness. Log in to the portal to get started.
To learn more, check out HelpGuide’s article “Benefits of Mindfulness,” which shares mindfulness techniques, practices and more to explain mindfulness and the well-being it can bring to individuals.
